32 ton Class B Shay

Bachmann's Ely Thomas Shay was a spectacular start for this locomotive. I opened the engineer's window, detailed the interior
added a tool cabinet in front of the cylinders, moved the air cylinder under the running boards and added a junk bin. The
majority of the clutter is from Ozark Miniatures. As with all of the first generation Shays owners I have replaced the truck
bodies and major components witht he later parts. The electrical pickup issues were fixed by cutting down LGB wipers and
soldering them to the original brass connectors. A Sierra sound system brings the monster to life. Brighter LEDs were also
added to the firebox.

22 ton Heisler

Didn't know Bachmann made one of these in 2001, did you? Well they didn't, I did. I started with a Climax, removed the cylinders,
cross box and truck side frames. The wheels were modified to take side rods and counterbalances. Siderods were fashioned
from square brass tubing and flat stock. The original cylinders were used to build the classic Heisler "V" engine
that sits over an operating driveshaft. The tender was from a Shay with a scratchbuilt oil bunker. Low voltage incandescent
lamps replaced the original LEDs in the headlights. The unit was detailed in logging locomotive style with lots of functional
clutter. That is Ozark's steam transfer pump on the engineer's from running board. A Sierra sound system adds immensely
to the operation of this locomotive.

25 ton Climax

Bachmann's Climax is a great locomotive right out of the box. I added the tool locker in front of the cab, modified the running
board over the front pilot, built an oil bunker then finished construction with a rear cab curtain. The curtain is necessary
to keep the crew some what dry in the wet pacific northwest. The primary details aded were a crew from SLM and lots of hard
working clutter from Ozark Miniatures, Trackside details and others.
