Rules for Beach and Lake
BEACH-GENERAL
1.
FOLN Membership Badges must be worn or displayed prominently at all times
2.
Guests are welcome, particularly out of town relatives. Local residents
can come to the beach as a guest on two occasions. Guest fees $2.00 adults, $1.00 Children (under 16). If guests want to continue to use the facilities, they must join; otherwise it is not fair to our members.
Out of town residents are welcome at no fee.
3.
The Beach closes for swimming at dusk. Unless there is a special
event sponsored by FOLN, no one is permitted to use the beach after dusk.
4.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the beach grounds and lake. If
a person is not in control of his/her behavior, that person will be asked to leave the premises.
5.
Failure to observe and follow FOLN’s Beach and Lake
Rules can result in suspension of membership privileges or expulsion
from FOLN.
6.
No animals allowed in lake or on beach grounds.
7.
Inappropriate language and behavior will not be tolerated.
8.
Smoking only in designated areas.
LAKE – SWIMMING
1.
When a lifeguard is on duty, the guard has full authority. Everyone
must comply with his/her instructions.
2.
No swimming alone when lifeguard is not on duty.
3.
Children must be accompanied and supervised by a person 16 years of age or older.
4.
When on raft, observe the following:
a.
No pushing or shoving or horseplay.
b.
No rocking the raft back and forth (support barrels may become dislodged).
c.
Do not enter water from North Shore
side of raft.
d.
No swimming under the raft.
5.
No plastic blow-up toys beyond the roped-off swim area (tire tubes are o.k.)
6.
Beach swimmers must swim in designated areas.
7.
No one is allowed out to raft unless they can swim there unassisted or accompanied by an adult.
8.
Everyone in the water or on the beach must obey the lifeguards and the beach manager or risk being ejected from
the beach.
9.
Children 12 years old or older can be at the beach without supervision if they can swim and there is a lifeguard.
LAKE – BOATING
1.
Life jackets must be present in all boats.
2.
Gasoline motors are prohibited on the lake (electric motors are acceptable).
3.
Keep boats out of swim area between raft and ropes.
4.
Replace lift-off gate after launching boat at boat racks.
LAKE – FISHING
1.
Absolutely no fishing from the swim area of the beach.
2.
Prior to casting, please check area all around you (avoid possible injury by looking left, right and rear).

BEACH
GROUNDS
1.
Throwing of sand is prohibited.
2.
When children are finished playing, be sure that they level all sand castles and refill all the holes they make
in the sand.
3.
Return blow-up toys to toy shed and playground toys to playground after using them.
4.
Place all trash and recyclables in proper confiners.
5.
Place all cigarette butts in proper disposal containers.
6.
Clean (and rinse if necessary) picnic tables after use.
7.
Children on playground apparatus must be supervised by parent or adult.
8.
After using propane grill, please clean it and kindly place $2.00 in door slot of big shed to help cover cost
of propane.
Non-Discrimination
Policy
FOLN opposes all forms of discrimination including ethnic,
racial, gender, and sexual orientation. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated.
The lifeguard and beach manager are the final authority
on matters affecting the day-to-day operation of the beach and swim area. Please
do not question their decisions. If you have a complaint or other issues with
