Twelve years ago Dykes on Bikes was started by a few women who wanted to
ride in the Atlanta Pride Parade. We now lead the Atlanta Parade and have ridden in the Birmingham Pride Parade & Macon
Pride Parade. We've also been featured in a local rock band's music video, a Canadian documentary, a BBC
Special Report, SoVo and the AJC and a short movie for the Shriner's. We like to let the members plan their own rides; this
is the place to do it. Ride with Pride!
The 2008 Pride Parade was an adventure due in part to the new location and route.
About 50 bikes showed up for the ride even though the weather was threatening. It started raining about 12:30 but we waited
until the rain started coming down in earnest before we started the parade. Then the skies opened up and it poured! It appears
that we need more gay pride events to stop the drought in GA. Despite the heave down pour everyone had fun, where else can
you take a nice long shower with a bunch of lesbians?
