Archives of DJ Lebowitz on the Radio
DJ LEBOWITZ
Now you can listen to archives of radio shows featuring the rockinest piano player in the world as a special guest.  On these shows you can hear cuts from DJ Lebowitz records and live performances.

Each radio program is two hours long.
DJ Lebowitz was a guest a few times on Pitch-a-Fit with Poly Vinyl Chloride, on KPFA, Berkeley, California.  On all three shows you can hear cuts from DJ Lebowitz records plus lots of music from DJL's record collection, a lot of which is rare.
You can listen to an archive of each of these broadcasts by going to http://zoka.com/pvc/ .

Click "Audio Archives," scroll down, then select June 22, 2004,
 June 28, 2005,
 or Aug. 1, 2006.

Rare recordings of live DJL performances (never before heard on the radio) are found on the June 28 and Aug.1 broadcasts.    If you want to skip ahead to the live recordings, and do not have time to listen to the entire performance, here is what we recommend:

June 28, 2005 broadcast http://zoka.com/pvc/ ;
fast forward or slide the button to Live in Halifax, Nova Scotia!

(Meter) 52:00 "Kill the Poor/ Kill a Commie" (covering Dead Kennedys and Gang Green).

1:00:00 "I Love Livin' in the City"  (originally by Fear).

1:08:45 "Catch a Falling Bus" (DJ's rendition of an old Perry Como song seguing into:
1:10:45 "I Hate You" (orig. by Verbal Abuse).

1:15:10 "Once I Had a Brother" (orig. by the Fuck-Ups).

Aug. 1, 2006 broadcast http://zoka.com/pvc/ ;  fast forward or move the slider to

1:02:30 "Highway Star" (DJ's instrumental rendition of the song by Deep Purple).

1:08:15 "They Won't Stay Dead" (piano and vocal rendition of the 3-D Invisibles song).

1:10:45 a nice sick rendition of DJ Lebowitz original, "Breathe on Me".

1:22:40 "Let's Lynch the Landlord" (Dead Kennedys song).

Please note that you do not have to listen to the entire program to hear a particular DJ Lebowitz song or performance.  You can fast forward, and once the program has been loaded you can drag the button on the time slide back and forth to the portion of the program that you want to hear.

For a complete list of the songs played on each broadcast see http://zoka.com/pvc/ .  On the left side of the page, you can select the date of each program, to see each playlist.

Rplayer, rock piano punk piano, punk piano, alternative rock piano,
Reminder:DJ Lebowitz is not a Deejay.  He is a rock'n'roll piano player, a one man act. He'd like to be a radio dj, but he's too busy playing the piano. You won't find him spinning records at any nightclub. We hope you'll be able to come to a DJ Lebowitz piano performance soon. See you then!
