Hello. Welcome to the online home of the Crystal City Palace Table Football Club, proud member of the St.Louis Subbuteo League. Crystal City Palace is owned and managed by me, Bradley DeMunbrun. I picked the Crystal City Palace team name because I live in Crystal City and there is an English Championship League team named Crystal Palace. I use their colors and logos as a tribute to them.

What's New?

02.24.08

New bases for the Palace. I've switched bases to the Rex-C BiBase produced and sold by Subbuteo-Berlin. I'm having some modest success with this base and encourage you to try them when you get a chance. I'm still a big supporter of our League Sponsor- STEFAN CORDA, but I've switched from their bases. I still use Corda's El Diablo metal keeper and the 2K4 playing figures (which are the best in the business). In addition, Corda now has a line of painted teams that are really top notch. Check out their website at the link on the bottom of the page for more info on their products.

Not much to report really. My 3rd season in the SLSL is underway. While my playing has improved, the table is still proving that I'm at the bottom of the SLSL pile. A road trip to Cinicinnati was a lot of fun, but didn't bring many wins.

New Keeper again. I've switched back to the Corda El Diablo metal keeper. I've still got a sports figure keeper in the box, but the El Diablo is my #1.

New away kit for the upcoming season. Check out the slsl website for more details on the format for the 2007-2008 season. Short version is that there will be a league competition and a cup competition. Hopefully we'll be able to challenge for a cup title. New away kit is below- handpainted by me based on the real Crystal Palace away kit for this season.

Palace unveil their new training facility the iPitch nano. An Astrobase Indoor Turf will serve as a place to practice shooting, bar bets, and games of horse. Easy to throw in the car and take to the pub or to a friends house for a quick match. We look forward to losing a few matches on a new pitch. :)

Season 2 is in the books and although it went a little better than our first season, it must be said that it was still a dissapointment. 3 wins all against expansion clubs won't win any silver. Improvements on the pitch are there, but more work must be done if we ever hope to challenge for mid table obscurity. :) On to the silly season with plans to play in at least 3 big tournaments this summer, including the National Championship here in St. Louis.

Pretty in Pink?

Crystal City Palace have unveiled a new alternate/tournament logo (obviously borrowed from Palermo). After being dubbed the Pink Palace by Keith Constable at the recent Brick Tamland Celebrity Classic, we've decided to embrace the new color scheme. Real men are comfortable enough in their masculinity to wear pink. Evidence of this can be found in Mr. Constable's choice of pink Adidas Gazelle trainers. We only hope that we can live up to the high standards set by our English friend.

Camp Blue?

CCP unveiled a new playing facility today. Joseph "Blue" Palasky Memorial Stadium is built around a blue Flickmaster baise pitch. I'm not really sure why I bought it, other than the fact that no one in the SLSL has one. I haven't made my full evaluation yet, but so far it seems to be a really fast surface. Look for a full review on the SLSL forum soon.

NEW KIT!

2006kits.jpg

New kit for the PALACE. Handpainted by Jeff Drake of the SLSL. Based on the Adidas Libero Jersey and Sponsored by KY JELLY. KY was the only sponsor that showed any interest in PALACE after last year's winless campaign. Thanks to Jeff and KY for providing the new uniforms. This kit will be put on new Stefan Corda G2-A bases that I swindled from the City Saints club. This will be my first foray into the $20+ base world- I'm sure that will make me play better. :)

New away kit, handpainted by me. This is the team I'll be using for away games in the 2006-2007 SLSL season. They'll be on all white Corda G2-As when they arrive from the UK. Loosely based on Palace's real away kit this year. Not too bad a job if I do say so myself.

NEW KEEPER!

Palace signs a new Italian Keeper in order to stop the bleeding next season. Sports Figure keeper. Last season, Palace had the worst Goals Against Margin by a long shot. This year we intend to improve and the signing of a new keeper is a good start.

NEW BASES!

The search is over. I've decided that the Stefan Corda G2-A bases will be my bases for the 2006-07 season of the SLSL. After using them this summer in the RTW league, I feel they give me the best chance to win games. I love the way they glide and am really starting to shoot well with them.
