These are our howlers. Bubba is the son of Wahya and Sage and quite a bit bigger than his parents. Sage is quite the digger so the chain link area is buried 3' into the ground. He did manage to slip out once and had, what he considered, a good time chasing the horses. Bubba was too fat to fit through the hole Sage had dug and Wahya has the smarts enough to know her boundries. She did give Sage a tough chewing out when we put him back in the enclosure. Their favorite treats are large knuckle bones and pig ears. They are all lovers, but extremely shy with new people.

Wahya, Bubba, & Sage
Burns: Burns should be flushed with cool water then wrapped loosely in clean cloth until you take the animal to the vet.
Constipation: A spoonful of mineral oil, milk of magnesia, or powdered milk will help. So will adding graham crackers to their diet.
Heat: This is one I have to really watch for with my bulldogs. If you notice that they seem to be panting more than usual and seem weak, get them to a cool spot. Give them small amounts of water and bath their groin, stomach area, and head with a cool cloth.
Poison: Give them milk or egg whites to absorb the toxin. DO NOT try to get them to vomit. Get them to a vet as soon as possible.
Skunk Spray: Luckily it's been many years since I've had to use this. To help alleviate the smell, bathe the animal in tomato juice and a touch of lemon. Rinse, soap and repeat as necessary.
Flea Control: Take a cord and dip it in lavender, mint, and pennyroyal and place it around the animal's neck. Brush their fur once a week with a tincture of fennel and pennyroyal. Sprinkle their food three times a week with brewer's yeast and garlic powder. I also find that placing cedar chips around the exterior of my house has eliminated the flea problem. Flea free for 5 years.
Common Plants that will make your pet ill: angelica, buttercup, cherry leaves, daffodil, foxglove, goldenseal, holly, English ivy, juniper, marigold, morning glory, poinsettia, tansy, and walnut.
