Coach Pike Comments:

Great performances for such a nasty night. In VERY cold, wet, and windy weather, Waverly men's Track got off to a roaring start. The sprint relays reloaded with returning state record holder Justin Boyd and 4 new faces, Dante Adams, Rasheed Lawal, Kyle Percival, and Carson Butler, as they won the 4x100 and 4x200 in times faster than the automatic state qualifier. Vaulters Rex Wilkes, James Jefferson, and Adam Graddick took the gold medals in the Vault. Our sophomore class and incoming freshmen made quite an impact and will undoubtably become valuable varsity contributors as the year progresses. Other individual highlights incude Chris Pike in the shot, Gabriel Villaroel in the hurdles, and Wilfredo Villaroel in the 800. On a night where merely withstanding the elements was a challenge, our performances were outstanding.
