Fall Color does come to Florida. First are the wild cherry, then the "swamp maples", sweet
gum, hickory and the bald cypress before it sheds its leaves. Wild grape leaves usually just turn yellow, but sometimes
when they are brown the sun coming through them makes them a great burnt orange color. Sparkleberry can be a really
vivid red as are the sumac shrubs. There are seldom whole vistas of color just great splotches as fall tries to reach
down into our mostly green sunshine state.
