New Standards

The music is arranged for Classic and
Matched Reciprocal™ tunings. And though, not specifically arranged for other
tunings, fret transpositions are included, on most songs, for Baritone
Melody™ and Deep Baritone Melody™ tunings. Since all songs were arranged for a
10-stringed instrument, the book is equally suited for Grand Sticks®
configured in 6x6, 7x5, or High Bass 4th. Thereby, making the book usable by the
greatest number of Stick players. Even instruments tuned in Deep Matched
Reciprocal™ are accommodated, without any need for fret or string
transposition. (Note: playing a piece, as written, will be in a different
key.) As a soloist, Chris’ arrangements lend themselves
well to study. Everyone who is familiar with StaffTab will be in familiar
territory and for those who are not, a short introduction explains the
fundamentals of StaffTab. Also included, in New Standards,
is a brief section on the basics of music notation. Steering clear of the
finer points of reading music, this section explains how to interpret rhythm
(as notated), elements of notation, and symbol usage. Offered on this site is a free PDF
download – Gypsies.
Gypsies is an original piece from the CD – Truth and is included in New Standards.
(This is the only song arranged specifically for Classic tuning.) Each song in New Standards
has been transcribed, note for note, from the original recordings. As a
bonus, New Standards includes 7 classic tunes – including: Linus
& Lucy, The Girl From Ipanema, Scarborough Fair, and Sleepwalk. The
cost for the e-Book alone or in combination with CDs or music downloads is
listed below, and can be paid on-line, with any major credit card, through
one of the PayPal buttons. After payment is verified, an e-mail will be sent
to the address you specify containing a link where the e-Book can be
downloaded. The file is 11MB in size. If you don’t receive an e-mail within
24 hours, please send an e-mail to: stickmusic@earthlink.net |
