Dear Parents,
It is very important that our students who ride a
bus know and practice the rules that are set up for their safety and
the safety of all of the riders. I talk to several students a
week who are referred to me because of their behavior on the bus.
I try to make sure that the students understand why there are rules for
riding a school bus. I discuss the safety issues with them. I
also try to call the parents of these students to ask them for their
support in reinforcing our bus rules. If your child rides a
school bus, please discuss the importance of the following things with
them:
Always sit in your seat facing forward.
Do not block the aisle by sitting in it or putting your legs out in it.
Keep your hands inside the bus.
Keep your hands, feet and other objects to yourself.
Use appropriate language when talking on the bus.
Use inside voices and do not yell or scream on the bus.
Respect all other riders on your bus.
Listen to and obey the driver.
Report any students who are breaking rules to your driver.
I
appreciate your help with keeping our bus riders safe while traveling
to and from school.
