Help Wanted
the thirdHand is hiring experienced part-time and temporary positions
in the following fields:
housecleaning, dog sitting and nanny.
=========================================================== =========================================================== Posted 8/16/07
Position One in Boulder
Embedded development experience required Development under
RTOS experience required (Real Time Operating System) 3+ years C/C++ experience required Medical Device, Avionics
or Aerospace experience highly desired Work in regulated environment (and all of the extra process/documentation
that comes with that) highly desired VxWorks experience a plus Signal processing experience a plus (not required
for all positions) Actual experience working on Pulse Oximetry devices a HUGE plus (but these will be exceedingly
rare)
Position Two in Lakewood
Position Requirements:
Embedded Software Engineer with at least 5 years of diverse development
experience. BS in computer science, engineering, or equivalent required Strong C++ /OO/Software Architecture skills
required. All candidates are required to submit proof of C++ proficiency by web-based testing. Use brainbench.com or teckchek.com
Mission critical software experience or medical device development a strong plus Candidate should have either: VxWorks
or equivalent RTOS experience, or Unix experience. Experience with FDA design controls or similar development process
a strong plus Strong communication skills and comfortable working in a team environment expected. Must have a positive
attitude and be willing to work closely and communicate often with peers, SQA, and other engineering disciplines. The
software framework is object oriented, uses multiple layers of inheritance, and relies on many advanced features in C++. Key
architectural elements are: mutli-tiered state machines, inter/intra process messaging, and real-time multi-tasking. Therefore,
embedded experience is good as foundational experience but strength in software architecture and C++ is more important than
low-level device skills. The candidate will be adding new features and enhancements to the existing framework so it will
require developing a strong understanding of the existing system through a study of documentation, experimentation with the
current system, and consulting with current engineering staff. The skill of thorough and patient testing is very important,
as a procedure may take hours to complete. The ability to comprehensively test your software, analyze issues, and come
up with solutions is a vital skill. Debugging is mostly done through log analysis. It is imperative for the candidate
to have the ability to follow good design practices and implement well-constructed, bug-free software the first time.
If you know someone who might be interested please let me know. -- Thank
you,
