AirMail NTSD

Up

Airmail is easily used with the National Traffic System (NTSD) and is used by a number of stations each day on HF and on VHF/UHF.  The program connects easily, sends and receives any messages, and then disconnects.  Below is a way to automatically have Airmail display the appropriate NTSD MBO and DRS stations to contact.

  • Update the Airmail Frequency List to include NTS Digital Area Hub Stations:

After opening Airmail,

  • Click on View

  • Click on Frequency List

  • Click on Text Format (List Format is Center)

  •  Copy the material below (small blue type) and Paste into the "Text Format" tab of the Frequency List.  Paste it (Click on Edit, Click on Paste) after the dashed lines and before the first PMBO station in the list you get from ZS5S. Be sure there is a blank line after the dashed lines.

  • Click Update

  • Click Save

  • Click on the Freq.List Tab at the top

  • Check W4ZJY, K7BDU, WB2FTX, and WX4J

  • Uncheck the stations you do not need to view or do not expect to use.

  • OR Click on View, Click on Stations List, Click on HAM, and check the stations you wish to see.  Uncheck the ones you do not expect to use.

  • Click Save

  • If you want to update the Airmail PMBO list, then update the PMBO list first, before you do the above for NTSD stations.  Similar directions are in Airmail Help.

      INQUIRY:LIST
    • Go to Menu items: "Windows>Catalog"
    • Double Click on folders: "WL2K>Global>ZS5S_Bulls" and then check "PMBO"
      (on right screen.)
    • Check into a PMBO to send the request
    • Check back into same the PMBO to obtain a new Frequency list, subject: "ZS5S
      Directory of Winlink-2000 MBOs (INQUIRY:LIST)"
    • Go to inbox and highlight the Frequency List, "SERVICE@WL2K
      INQUIRy:LIST"
    • Go to menu item "Tools>Make Frequency List."  The list will appear on the
      screen
    • Click "Update" and then "Save" the  frequency list

  • Now do whatever else you would like to do to the frequency list such as selecting frequently used stations, adding NTSD stations (above) or state wide Digital Point to Point frequencies.
