Who We Are

Borinquen Post 508 was chartered in 1954 by the State of California as an American Legion Post.  We gave the American Legion Post the name of Borinquen in honor of that little Island in the Atlantic ocean where most of us have family and friends.  After some 47 years we still have some charter members with us.    Many people recognize our name "Borinquen Post" because of the many Annual Picnics that we gave, year in and year out, in various parks of Los Angeles County and Riverside County.

Many of us are Puerto Rican, part Puerto Rican or of  Puerto Rican parents.  However, we have with us Mexicans, Cubans, Dominicans, Caucasians and more and proud to have them.  Any veteran can join us that qualifies.  See the dates of eligibility on the Join Borinquen Post 508 Web page.  We all have one common bond and that is that we are Veterans who served in the Military of the United Sates of America .  Please browse our other Web pages.
