The Last week of August
Cub Scout Resident Camp
Theme: Island Explorer
$75.00 deposit is need to hold a spot for anyone attending. Checks to BSA.
August Aug. 27-30, 2009 Thursday to Sunday
AM boat ride 4 days, 3 night. Home Sunday late afternoon.
Where: CAMP CHERRY VALLEY, located on Santa Catalina Island.
What:
Cubs have the opportunity to enjoy a sleep-away camp,
staffed by Cub Scout experts who plan activities for advancement
and fun specifically for Cubs. Cub Resident Camp is open only to Cubs in
Den 2, 3 and 4, Summer Webelos and Bears.
Hiking, Kayaking, campfires, songs, crafts, archery, BB’s, swimming, snorkeling, visit a sea lab, tour a mine, learn rope knots, take part in the Flag ceremonies and more. The beach has no heavy surf, also no sand.
This is a Pack event, must come with Pack leaders.

Cost: Scout $210.00. Includes: meals, boat trip,
crafts, sports, patch and more.
Adult $130.00 (includes: meals, boat trip, patch and
most sports).
Also includes: Hot Showers, wood floor tents with cots,
separate Men, Women and Scout restroom & shower facilities.
$75.00 deposit required. Balance due 8-1-06. Cancellation fee 25% of total cost, if two weeks before camp. Sorry no siblings.
Bring:
Sleeping bag, uniform, hat, sun screen, swimsuit, hiking-walking
shoes, beach shoes, jacket, small water bottle, snack lunch for boat trip
and personal stuff.

This is a wonderful camp facility with a great staff. You will have
a marvelous and relaxing time.
Some Camp Rules:
Operates on buddy system, no scout may be by themselves at anytime. Two or more scouts together at all time. For Kayaking, Swimming and Snorkeling all must past a basic swimming test. For archery and BB’s a simple parent permission slip must be signed. Rocks are on the ground and stay there.
