Welcome to the Loudoun/Western Fairfax Chapter of
The Association for Women in  Communications.

The Loudoun/Western Fairfax chapter of The Association for Women in
Communications serves professional women who live or work in Loudoun
County or on the western side of Fairfax County in Virginia. Their employers
encompass corporations and small businesses that leverage print,
broadcast, and electronic communications media as either a primary or
secondary product. The chapter held its initial meeting in January 2004
and became a fully chartered chapter in March.

AWC-Loudoun/Western Fairfax, as it is known, was founded by members of
the Washington, DC Professional Chapter who live in Loudoun County and
work in western Fairfax County. Most women who live and work in this area
forgo AWC-DC events because of the distance, traffic, time required or
conflicting personal obligations. The founding members' goal was to bring the
strengths of AWC and the
benefits of membership to the women of Loudoun
and western Fairfax while minimizing any barriers to their participation.
