If any
group would like to develop a project, like put together funding for further
preschools in displaced persons camps, please do your grassroots organizing and
just earmark your funds for the program you design. A good example is preschools
in Aceh or Yogja now running in IDP camps. One of the volunteers built a
children's playhouse. Now there are three in different IDP camps with running
preschools delivered by our psychosocial team. Each playhouse costs $700. We
are in process of building three more playhouses to cover our 6 camps. The
entire psychosocial program is running on approximately $70,000 per year,
including the preschools integrated with psychological care. This counseling
early after a tragedy mediates the long term effects by helping the children to
feel secure, loved, and inspires them through tapping into their creativity. We
are raising funds for the third and fourth quarters in Aceh, and need to start
the program in Yogja as soon as shelters are available for the
people.
AOMAA-IBU Foundation are a family. We invite participation by creative individuals and groups everywhere to provide direct aid and to help young professionals and volunteers experience humanitarian work in their own countries. "IBU means the mother who cares." IBU4Aceh was the first of the IBU programs. This is now being replicated in Yogjakarta as IBU4Yogja. |
