"Angeles, Slide Mountain In Service" Those words were spoken for the first time in 23 years at Slide Mountain Lookout at 12:30 on October 4th 2003. Dan O'Conner, Slide Mountain lookout for the 1975 fire season went in service amidst 22 guest. The reply from Angeles was drowned out by the cheers and screams of the guests at the lookout and down on the shores of Pyramid Lake. It was a beautiful day for the culmination of over a year and a half of planning and hard work.
