How Nominations and Voting WorksNominations and voting will both happen online, so they will be a) public to the group and b) in the archive. The archive is public. Voting, likewise will be a) public to the group and b) in the archive. You will vote on the MEFA2005 site and all votes will be psted to the group by digest. So how does one nominate? Beginning April 1, 2005, members of the group may submit their nominations. First, you should check the Stories Nominated 2004 lists (Completed and Incomplete) in the Database section of the YahooGroup site to make sure you are not duplicating an already existing nomination. And you should check those stories already nominated on the MEFA2005 site. Then, can follow the instructions on how to submit a story for nomination.. All fields with a * are mandatory. Staff members will then contact the author for his or her permission to be included in the Awards. (Nominators who receive this permission ahead of time should forward them to mefasupport@gmail.com with the subject line of Author Approval). The Nominations list will later be categorized and put into Check Ballots that will circulate on-list for authors/members/etc. to make corrections as need be. The next season is Reading Season. We anticipate a large pool of stories, and thus have included time for voters to read up on the nominated stories. Then the Ballots will be circulated on-list. To vote, you can follow these voting instructions found on this site. Author's are nominated automatically when their stories are nominated, so you needn't nominate them individually. The voting for Author categories will be exactly the same procedure as that for stories. Once all votes are counted and certified, the three stories (and Authors) in each category will be awarded the appropriate prize for their categories. The winners will be acknowleged publically on the list and on our website. And then we start all over again next year! |
