Middle-Earth Fanfiction Awards' DisclaimersNo money is being made from these Awards or the stories nominated. No infringment is meant on the works of JRR Tolkien or anyone else. Because the MEFAs are interested in showcasing excellent stories, all genres are permitted which meet the ratings restriction (see the Rules) This should be understood to be the basis of all substantive policy discussions. The MEFAs, despite allegations to the contrary, have no religious affiliation whatsoever, and is neither pro- nor anti-religion. It is rather pro-story, plain and simple, within the restrictions Yahoo has set on a general group (not Adult): the purpose is to find good stories and give good feedback to authors individual readers think deserve it. In respect to religion, these Awards and the group uphold and abide by the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. As such, we take the wording from said document and revise it to pertain to this group and the awards:
[The MEFAs and MEFAwards] shall make no [rule] respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof[.] If you have any more questions or concerns, you may e-mail the Administrator |
