Here's my opinions on a variety of subjects..... Abortion: Don't like them. A fetus is a lifeform. Women should have
the right to get one if they choose. I do not, however, support partial-birth abortions. At that point, the baby is on it’s
way out of the mother and can survive on it’s own.(Yes, I know it still needs someone to care for it) At that point,
killing a baby is murdering an individual.
Television is partially to blame for the dumbing down of America. But here's
an angle you probably haven't ever heard. I blame new shows. When I was young, we didn't have cable TV. If we wanted to watch
something funny during the week, we usually had to watch reruns of old TV shows. Even the goofiest of those old shows gave
us some sense of the past. The clothes, the way people spoke, what they talked about, the cars, the furniture, all of it was
like a little window to the past, and although we didn't realize it at the time, we were learning just a little bit. Today,
cable provides kids with a constant supply of new programs. Most kids never watch those tired old reruns, and it shows in
their lack of awareness about the past.
Illegal Aliens: They are like a cancer. Recent estimates are that 10,000 a
day are pouring over the boarder into the US, and for the most part it's not healthy, intelligent people coming in, it's the
sick, the ignorant, and the criminals. Worst of all, the US caters to their needs. Tax payers pay to house, educate and give
medical attention to people who shouldn't be here in the first place. They should get NOTHING. They should be detained and
shipped back home. Sadly, many of the businesses and rich folk don't want to lose their cheap labor, so the aliens are probably
here to stay.
Drugs: Pot should be legalized, no other recreational drugs, though.
Death Penalty: I'm for
it, but only when guilt is indisputable.
Homosexuals: I have no problem with them. I have some friends who are gay
and it's not an issue for me. I do, however, occasionally give in to the urge to mock some of the more effeminate 'flouncy'
gay men.
Languages: If you live in the US you should be required to learn English. Plain and simple. The country should
not have to cater to non-English speakers. This isn't trying to take away anyones heritage, it's just a fact that if you
speak English you can get further in America, you will have fewer difficulties in getting by, and you'll be safer.(Not all
warning signs are in Spanish.) If I was going to live in France, I would make it a point to learn French. The French government
wouldn't make sure everything was in English for me, and I wouldn't expect them to.
Religion: I feel that any organized
religion is corrupt. They are not purely from any divine being, they have all been formed, over time, by imperfect men with
their own agendas. I was born a Catholic, but have since renounced it. I believe that the Bible is probably 5% truth and
about 95% fantasy and exaggeration. We wouldn't believe those stories from anyone today, but somehow we believe stories told
by some goat farmers from 2000 years ago? The bible is far too illogical, far too contradictory, and steals far too much from
other religions. I do believe that there are beings more powerful than us, and that they are beyond our ability to understand.
I try to live in a way that I hope won't tick them off. I believe in some sort of Karmic force in nature. We cannot
know what death holds for us, so I don't worry about it.
Women in the Military: If they can pass the same training
as the men, then it's cool. Under the current system, where women have lower requirements to get in, then it's not cool. If
my life depends on a soldier, I don't want the soldier to be less capable just because she's a woman.
Affirmative
Action: Wrong. Jobs should go to the most qualified, period. Giving preference to minorities is just racism against whites.
If you're going to a doctor, do you want to be confident that he's a doctor because he did good in medical school, or do you
want a doctor who got into medical school with lesser grades because he's a minority? Affirmative action, by the way, originally
meant, and only meant, that job openings had to be advertised in minority neighborhoods as well as white ones. The minorities
had to have the chance to be aware of the job openings. They had no added chance of actually being hired.
Welfare:
It's cool for the people who are physically or mentally incapable of work. If you are capable of working, welfare should be
a limited time offer. If you don't find work in a suitable amount of time, the state should put you to work doing something
to earn your welfare check, even if it's just picking up trash on the side of a highway.
Women working in general:
If a woman has a child and is financially able to support it without working, she should be with that child. If she has to
work, she has to. A woman cannot be the best she can be at her job and the best she can be as a mother at the same time. No
one can do two things, and do them as well as they could one thing alone. If women can afford to be home with their babies
they should be. Career building shouldn't come at the expense of time with the child.
Taxes: While taxes to pay for
necessary public services are fine, we should not be taxed for all the added little government programs which help certain
groups. Donations to such programs should be voluntary. Forcing us to donate to such things is communistic.
Stupid
people are breeding the intelligent out of America. Intelligent people are waiting longer to have kids, and having fewer of
them. Idiots are breeding like rabbits. Very bad for the future.
Political Correctness: Another eventual death blow
to the country. Nothing is anyones fault, and nothing that offends anyone is allowed. It's pathetic. It's resulting in a nation
of wimps and idiots who can't take a joke and feel no sense of responsibility. They live in a fantasy world and are incapable
of handling it when real life intervenes.
