Testimonials
“Very interesting. It is a perfect way to promote our country.” Antonio Mascello, Secretary of Lapam Federimpresa,
an association of food artisans in Modena, Italy
“When the characters emerge from behind the stoves, the novel becomes filled with romance, intrigue, suspense, and
even a bit of mystery. Still, the novel's driving force is to educate people about Italy's history and cuisine … Unlike
most novels, this one comes replete with souvenirs - recipes, lots and lots of recipes.” Francesca Di Meglio, Italiansrus.com
“"Con Amore" is a fascinating text filled with delicious recipes and interesting and useful information on Italian foods
and cooking. The book is well written by a writer with a flair and a love for the subject.” Ralph Ferraro, Director,
The Italian American Press
“Not your average romance
novel, ‘Con Amore’ can serve as a reference guide to
the indigenous foods of Italy’s many regions as well as a cookbook of savory Italian recipes.” Nicole Giannettino,
Sunday Sauce

Janice Therese Mancuso has created
a charming modern day romance novel blended deliciously with appetizing regional recipes of Italia. Con Amore is the passionate story of Janine Fiori who adventures
to a refurbished inn at Montauk, New York, where she spends a week learning more about food, Italy, and attractive Italian men. The delectable recipes that are interjected
throughout the novel, along with their historicity, are indexed and can be created in anyone’s kitchen.
The book contains a very useful
bibliography and a list of websites that help the reader to learn more about Italy
and its traditions of good food and joyous festivals. Rich with romance and appetizing details, Con Amore is an enjoyable read, and one is tempted to create and sample every good recipe in it, beginning with
"Apricot, Cranberry, and Pecan Bread Pudding" made from golden panettone to Rulli del Manzo con Ragu di Caffe (Beef Rolls with Coffee Ragu.) made with braciola, or thin sliced steak. Coffee mixed with tomato sauce may sound strange, but I am reminded how my Italian
Zia Elena used to say, you can always cut the sourness of sauce with a little coffee. And her sauce was delicious.
What could be better than good
food and adventurous and mysterious romance all mixed into one book. Yummy! –
in any language, but particularly enticing when it is Italian American food and love.
