and its traditions of good food and joyous festivals. Rich with romance and appetizing details, Con Amore is an enjoyable read, and one is tempted to create and sample every good recipe in it, beginning with
"Apricot, Cranberry, and Pecan Bread Pudding" made from golden panettone to Rulli del Manzo con Ragu di Caffe (Beef Rolls with Coffee Ragu.) made with braciola, or thin sliced steak. Coffee mixed with tomato sauce may sound strange, but I am reminded how my Italian
Zia Elena used to say, you can always cut the sourness of sauce with a little coffee. And her sauce was delicious.
What could be better than good
food and adventurous and mysterious romance all mixed into one book. Yummy! –
